About This Strategy

A scanner that scores how many bullish technical conditions align — price action, momentum, trend strength and volume — for the next trading session. The score ranks setups; it is not a forecast of the chance a stock will rise.

Strategy Summary

The Tomorrow Potential Stocks scanner evaluates multiple technical indicators simultaneously and assigns each stock a setup score based on the strength of bullish confluence. The score is an uncalibrated weighted sum of those conditions, not a probability: out-of-sample testing over 443 symbols found no reliable relationship between the score and how often a stock actually rose, so a score of 80 does not mean an 80% chance of anything. Use it to rank candidates for your own review, not as a likelihood.

Qualification Criteria

  • Bullish trend alignment (EMA structure)
  • Momentum confirmation (RSI direction & MACD behavior)
  • Healthy volatility (ATR stability)
  • Volume participation above recent averages
  • A setup score ≥ 50 (a ranking value, not a percentage)

Results are sorted by setup score (highest first) to surface the strongest confluence. A stock is selected when it shows bullish trend alignment, momentum confirmation, healthy volatility, and volume participation above recent averages. Ranking order is meaningful; the number itself is not a percentage.

Who This Strategy Is For

  • Active traders who want momentum-based trade ideas ranked for them, with minimal manual analysis
  • Day traders seeking high-confidence setups for the next session
  • Swing traders looking for momentum continuation entries
  • Traders who prefer quantitative filtering over subjective chart scanning
  • Anyone wanting to reduce analysis time while improving trade selection quality

How It Works

1

Analyze trend structure using moving averages

2

Evaluate momentum strength via RSI and MACD

3

4

Assess volatility stability using ATR

5

Combine all signals into a setup score out of 100

6

Rank stocks and return the top candidates

Advantages

  • Weighted ranking rather than binary signals
  • Fast and scalable across the entire PSX universe
  • Automatically filters weak or low-confidence setups
  • Clear, objective output (no over-optimization)
  • Ideal for pre-market or end-of-day planning

Disadvantages

  • A high score means more conditions align, not a higher chance of profit
  • Some valid trades may score below threshold
  • Performance can vary with market regime
  • Best used as a decision-support tool, not a signal alone

How to use this strategy on PSX

1. Confirm market context

Check Market Overview and Money Flow first so you know whether PSX breadth, flow, and sector leadership support this setup type.

2. Read the signal columns

Use the price, structure, and confirmation columns together. These strategy pages are designed to improve selection quality, not to replace execution and risk management.

3. Use backtests as context

Backtests help you understand expectancy, hold time, and drawdown behavior. They should sharpen judgment, not turn a setup into a guaranteed trade.
